Managing Your Listing
It is essential that when your listing is live on ebay that you do not just sit back and do nothing.
You must manage your listing well in order for you to receive as many possible bids as possible and get the best price.
In order for you to easily track what bids you are getting and how many people are visiting your listing you can use My eBay.
Log into My eBay using your user ID and password. In My eBay you can see what the current bid is on your item by clicking Bid History.
You must also ensure that you reply to potential buyers emails. Buyers will email you to find out further information or just to clarify something.
Make sure that you reply to the emails promptly and honestly because this will create a good impression and will show tat you are a professional.
The emails will be forwarded to your registered email address on eBay so make sure that you check your inbox frequently.
It is also important to point out that some people may email you asking to end the auction early and sell the item to them.
They will tend to offer you a price that is over the asking price so that you will sell it to them immediately.
However, it is advisable that you do not accept these offers because it is likely that if the item is that popular then you will probably end up getting a higher price anyway.
Also, if you do this private sale than eBay will not help you if the buyer is not legitimate.
You may find that some people may email you asking a question that you feel other people may want to know too so you can add this information to your Item Description. To do this all you have to do is click on the Services link on the eBay website.
Another useful tool to use is the question and answer feature which allows you to publish a question that you have been asked from a buyer and the your answer you have provided.
You can do this by clicking on the Display this question and response on my listing so all buyers can see it.
