Completion of the Sale
Once the auction is over and your item has been sold the payment procedure should be fairly simple.
The buyer will receive an email with all the details they need to make the payment to you so you will find that most buyers will pay for the it promptly.
If they are paying by PayPal then you will receive an email as soon as they have paid and will also be given the address that the item has to be sent to.
If they want to pay by cheque or postal order then you will need to wait until it arrives.
If the buyer does not make any contact or attempt to make the payment then you must contact them within three working days but preferably contact them within 24 hours.
You should send the buyer a friendly and quick email just asking about the payment. Normally, the buyer just needs some clarification or is just new to eBay so only needs some additional information.
After the payment has been successfully received then you must dispatch the item as quickly as possible. Normally the item should arrive a couple of days after payment is received and should not take longer.
If there is a problem with the delivery of the item and it will take longer to deliver then you must contact the buyer and let them know. When you send the item it may be a good idea to give it your own personal touch.
This may be a free gift or just a printed letter to say thank you. This will encourage the buyer to leave you positive feedback and will also encourage the buyer to buy from you again.
